What is a codeshare?
Codeshare agreements allow airlines to partner and sell space on the same flight as if it were their own. The airline selling seats is referred to as the marketing carrier; the airline providing the aircraft, crew and ground-handling support is referred to as the operating carrier. When WestJet is the marketing carrier selling a partner-operated codeshare flight, it will have “WS” at the start of the flight number.

For example, if you need to travel to Miami, you can book WestJet and get there through our longstanding codeshare partnership with Delta Air Lines. Or, you could book all the way to Singapore with WestJet. You can travel on WestJet’s flight to Tokyo and continue on to Singapore through a codeshare flight with Japan Airlines.
